With more than ten years of experience working with brides and grooms, as a makeup artist, I always make sure I do all I can to make the day a relaxing experience for all involved.
Here are some tips I highly suggest to help ensure that the wedding morning remains peaceful and relaxing.
Tip #1 - Eat a Healthy Breakfast
Please take the time to eat breakfast (even if you don't feel like it). I recommend keeping fried and greasy foods clear as they can leave you tired and your stomach uneasy. A hearty breakfast of eggs and toast, yogurt and granola, or fresh fruit will keep your energy up. Don't feel like getting up early? It's your special day-have that breakfast brought to you in bed.
Tip #2 - Be Mindful
Be mindful of the people you surround yourself with on your special day. Those people should love and uplift you. If time allows, take time to meditate or do a bit of exercise to keep your mind clear and present.
"Make sure to hire a makeup artist that you love. Chances are they will be the last person you see before you are married."
Tip #3 - Pamper Yourself
Listen to a favorite song, take a nap, fill a bath with essential oils and relax. Make sure to hire a makeup artist that you love. Chances are they will be the last person you see before you are married. Make sure that they will arrive on time, take their time with the makeup application (this should not be rushed), and give you a luxurious experience.
Tip #4 - Take your time
Have your planner draft up a wedding timeline to keep you on track on the day. I highly recommend a late afternoon wedding in the summertime as they allow for more time to prep the space, arrivals for vendors, etc.
Tip #5 - Put away your phone
Hand your phone to a trusted person that will take care of all communication throughout the wedding day. This is YOUR day. Be 100% present for it.
I hope that these tips will be of assistance to you in helping to have a calm and relaxing wedding morning. Included below is a printable version to keep these reminders with you on your special day. If you are looking for more helpful tips, read my 15 Tips for a Stress-Free Wedding Day.
